Living Kindfully

An Open Letter To Those Who Want To Give Up

Dear friend, I understand you are in pain. No matter how hard you try, it is always one step forward, two step backwards. Everyone around you seems to be enjoying their success except you. You can only look from the outside wondering how success feels like.

I want to tell you that you are not alone. Many of us are struggling silently. What we see on social media does not reflect the reality of life. If success is easy to achieve, it will not taste as sweet. Yes, success is difficult. And success can be elusive.

You need to be consistent with your action. You need to take action that moves the needle. The time to study is over. It is time to act. Do not worry about not knowing enough, you will learn as you move towards your goal. Everyday, you have to work towards your goal.

Accept that there is no more work-life balance. Accept that there is no more weekends. When you wake up, it is all about taking action that moves you closer to your goals. If feel like procrastinate, ask yourself why? It is because you do not want it anymore? Be honest with yourself. Success requires pain and committment.

If you want your success bad enough, you will do everything to achieve it. It is okay to have self-doubt. It is also okay to feel like giving up. Because you have given your best but you are not getting the results that you want. Success only comes after a series of failures. Just give yourself a short break by sleeping early. The next day, you will feel better of yourself. Dust off the negative energy and try again.

Your success is not guaranteed. It is also okay to give up. Before you throw in the towel, ask yourself have you given your best? If yes, only then you have the permission to give up.

Kind regards, Simon
