Answer to the Call to Adventure
A hero's journey is a call to adventure. Sometimes you have to answer it whether you are ready or not. My son received an offer to help out at a commercial shooting. The commercial shooting is for a mobile phone company targeting different segments of the global market. The working hours may involve 12 to 18 hours of daily work. There is no overtime pay. But this is an international film crew, the experience could be life changing.
My son was concerned about the pay and hours. I told him that I know he secretly stayed up to play games and scrolling through his phone. Thus, it is not about the long hours but unfamiliar with the process. I encouraged him to go. This is the first time that the international crew work in the country, when the shooting wraps they will leave. Thus, it is an opportunity that is hard to come by.
The timing will never be right. You have to watch out for it. If the opportunity arises, you have to catch it. You never know where it will lead you.
