Do not Rush through What you Read
I used to be proud of my reading speed and brag the number of books that I have read. A friend challenged me to say one thing or quote one sentence from the books that I read which I can implement or change in my life. I cannot remember much about the book, I can only remember how it made me feel inspired. I do not need anymore inspiration. What I need are actionable ideas.
- What do you want to achieve from reading the book?
- After each reading session, ask yourself what can you immediately implement?
- If you want to share the lesson with someone, what would it be?
- Only read one fiction and one non-fiction at the same time.
There is no need to rush. You will never finish all the books that you want to read. Instead, absorb deeply on what you have read.
