Don't Get Too Comfortable
I started my business in my early forties. During my thirties, I had side hustles where I falsely thought that's my business. During that period, I was just going with the flow and enjoying the extra bit of money. It was a comfortable life. Eventually, the side hustle imploded, and I was left with a large bill and loans to pay.
I never thought I will lose my side hustle. I did not have a backup plan. The side hustle was meant to pay for my children's education. Reflecting what happened, I grew too comfortable with my life. I have stopped growing. I was contended with my life and did not watch out for danger.
The setback has opened my eyes. It forced me to confront my issues. I have to recalibrate and started my first real business in 2020. The journey has not been easy. Whenever there are setbacks in the business, it is because I tried to take the easy way out. I wanted to be comfortable. I was not ready for any growing pains. Maybe is my life, but being comfortable means no growth for me. In fact, it also means disaster is lurking around the corner.
Whenever you think you have made it, you think that you can start cruising in life. Beware! Be careful! Life is never meant to be comfortable. You have to watch out for dangers and be vigilant. You can have fun and relax but always watch out for danger.
