Focus on a Few
I was down with both fever and cough the last few days. While not well, I only focus on the most important task as I have limited bandwidth in concentration. Despite not able to complete as many tasks as I wanted. I did not find myself falling behind.
I now ponder how many hours that I have wasted on non-vital task done in the name of being productive? I cannot capture back the time that are wasted, but I can remove everything that brings low return and low happiness.
The first things that I reduced are social media and news. After skipping social media and news a few days. I do not feel compel to scroll. Instead of reading five to ten books at the same time, I have reduced my reading list down to three. By only focusing on three books, I do not have the anxiety to finish all the books that I have started. If I have to putdown a book I need to reflect on exactly what I have learned.
By reducing the above and focus on the vitals, I have freed up myself at least an hour to one and a half hours a day. The extra time have given me time to rest and reflect the direction of my life. Starting now, reduce and focused.
