If You are Doom Scrolling, You Should....
Some nights, I would scroll my phone as a form of winding down for the night. I could have read a book, but I was too tired to concentrate. The doom scrolling can sometimes last for 45 minutes.
My mentor advised me that if I am too tired to read something, it is time to go to bed. Doom scrolling will not bring my mind to rest. It keeps my mind engaged to the phone without bringing any benefit. If I caught myself doom scrolling, I would put the phone down and try to sleep. Many times, I would fall asleep nearly immediately.
The same principle applies to your day as well. Instead of doom scrolling through social media. Put down the phone and take a walk. If you cannot take a walk, try closing your eyes and listen to your breathing. Give your brain a break from stimulation.
Doom scrolling is a modern problem. Our brain is not designed for continuous stimulation. Put down the phone and go to bed.
