Living Kindfully

Learn Something that You Disagree

We all have our opinions. When we get challenged, or encounter an input that we do not agree with, we get defensive. We will shut down and refuse to engage in the conversation. We debate not to learn but to win.

Today, spent 10 minutes on YouTube watch someone whom you disagree with. Ask yourself why you disagree with that person? Ask yourself why that person would make such remarks? The lesson here is not to change your mind but to hold two conflicting thoughts in your head. If you are challenged again, you can say, "I see your train of thoughts" and explain it to the person. Chances are, the person does not want you to agree but to be heard. Remember, you can see their perspective, but you can still disagree.

By seeing things through a different perspective, you have a better picture on the overall situation. You make better decisions. When you make a statement, it is more convincing as you see both sides of the coin.
