Learning Does Not Stop
I have just completed my fourth certification subject called Insurance Claims for the AMII Level 1 certification. I have to take a total of six modules. Thus far, I have completed four modules. If everything goes as planned, I will require another eight more months to complete the certification.
From today until the start of my fifth module, I have about three weeks of non-lecture time. I could have taken a break. Given that I have gotten use to my study schedule. I have decided to take up short data analytics certification through Coursera. The complete course requires about 15 hours of lecture time. I should be able to complete the course before my fifth module starts.
Being a father with two kids who are still attending school, paying for another certification stresses the budget. Hopefully, I can get some financial aid from the admins of Coursera.
I am not crazy, but I understand the value of education. The world gets more competitive every day. The only way to stay relevant and competitive is to add value to my employers and clients. I used to struggle to learn as books and education are expensive. With Internet, I can learn anything as long as I can put in the effort.
I am blessed that I have internet access and opportunity to access to financial aid for education. I should not waste my time and opportunities to learn. The path to success is in my palm.
I agree with you that learning can be difficult especially after a hard day from work. But not able to provide to the family felt worst. Remember learning does not stop. Even if can you spare 30 minutes a day, it is enough. Consistency is key. Remember, learning does not stop.
