Lies that I Tell Myself
When I first started my business back in 2020. It was the peak of Covid. I can hardly get any appointments, and I do not have good networks. Every day I would wonder where and when I can get my sales. During that period, I read about the benefit of intermittent fasting (IF). I would skip both breakfast and lunch. I did lose weight, and I do not have the afternoon crash. My concentration improved, and I appreciate homecooked food. Now, it has become a habit. I would fast at least three days a week.
Reflecting at my intermittent fasting days, I wondered whether I truly believed in it or was an excuse not to spend money? I kept telling everyone that I am doing it for my health. I was probably lying to myself. I still remember the days where I was hungry. Once a week, I would look for a friend who could buy me a quick lunch.
What lies am I still telling myself? These lies can be so convincing that it is logical and morally superior. It is only after the fact that we realised we have been lying to ourselves.
Are you lying to yourself?
