Live a Little for Yourself
I just bought a new car. I am in my late forties; I have never bought a new car in my life. I only buy second hand cars and drive it until it dies. Deep down, I always question and tell myself that I do not deserve a new car. Because I have my responsibilities to full fill. Somehow, it has become my identity. I dream of owning one but never thought of buying one.
My business partner told me to live a little for myself. She has to print out my business performance from the last 3 years to convince me that I can afford a new car. Even then, I am not comfortable pulling the trigger. I have used my responsibility to my family as an excuse not letting myself live. It is a transition.
Some of you have sacrifice half of your life for the family. Maybe you now have some small success. It is okay to live a little for yourself. Do what you want to do. Buy what you want to buy. I am sure your action will not put your family at risk, as it would be a carefully thought decision.
