Make the First Move
Today I meet up with a friend whom I have known for at least 30 years. She is a prominent movie producer. We have not seen each other for years. Today I decided to ask her for coffee. She immediately agreed. In the short 90 minutes coffee session, we caught up with each other's news.
She told me that the reason she agreed to see her is because I am one of the few who has no agenda. We would just meet and catch up. In her industry, she has to be careful with the people that she meets. I over think things. I thought she would not want to catch up as I have nothing to offer her. I have no wealth or fame. After the coffee, we promised each other that we will catch up again.
In any relationship, it has to be sustained through actions. The easiest is to make the first move. What have you got to lose?
