Money is Not Everything But...
A reader remarked that I am money minded where I planned to monetise this site. She reminded me that money is not everything. For the record, I agree that money is not everything. I respect her opinion. She is not the only one who feels that way.
Firstly, I have not done any monetisation except for putting up the Buy Me a Coffee link. There is no hard sell, and it is on voluntary basis.
I am just a regular person who works hard to feed the family. Just like everyone, I have bills to pay and need to put food on the table.
I dream of providing a better life for the family. I am still haunted by the days where I could not pay for my children's school fees. The front tyre of my car was so bald that I can see the wiring mesh. The uncomfortable silent when my children and wife asked for something a normal person would want. The nights where I pretend to be asleep but worrying about the unpaid bills. Every day, I have to squeeze a fake smile telling everyone that I got it covered when deep down I don't know how.
Money is not everything, but it solves many money problems. For a start, you sleep better because you know you can pay for accommodation, food, transport, and education. When your basic needs are satisfied, use money to buy experience. How you want to spend your money is entirely your choice. For myself, my money is for spending quality time with the family. It could be food, entertainment, learning and traveling.
What happens to the site now? My priority is still creating value to the readers and inspire them to take action to chase their dream. My journey of self-exploration and improving remain unchanged.
