Living Kindfully

Procrastinate through Reading

I am behind with some work and household choirs. Instead of doing real work, I choose to read. I read to escape and to learn. As the clock ticks, I begin to worry and feel overwhelmed that I did not complete what I need to do.

Reading is a good habit, but should not be a an excuse to procrastinate on your most important urgent task. If you really want to read, schedule both reading and work into your day. Use reading as a form of reward for getting the important task done.

Both work and the books will always be there. Get the most urgent and important task out of the way, and you can enjoy your book without any guilt.
