Sometimes You get Crushed By Larger Opponents

I recently loss an important tender. Winning the tender would help this year's sales target. The competitor that I loss to is an international broker. I am just a small company with a lean team. From the feedback that I received, both my offer and price are competitive. What I loss out is my company size and brand. Compared to an international broker, I am a nobody. Of course, I do understand the saying "Nobody ever got fired for hiring McKinsey". Even if the broker could not deliver, no one will get into trouble.

What can I do? Nothing for now. Sometimes, being small and agile can be an advantage compared to larger brokers. I just have to find the right customers. Building a brand is a long journey, it can only be proven through delivering good promises every day.

Accept the defeat and fight for another day.
