Starting is the Most Difficult
I just received the results that I have passed the fourth module for AMII Level I. Therefore, I am qualified to prepare for my fifth module. In AMII Level 1, there are a total of six modules. Each module takes about four months to complete.
It took me nearly six months to decide to take up the challenge. I was afraid of the time and commitment. It was through both encouragement and blackmail from my business partner that made me take up the challenge.
Going through the first three modules was probably the most difficult part. I was only starting, and the finishing line was far away. I was overwhelmed by the amount of study time and coursework. As I worked through modules two and three, the nagging feeling did not go away. In fact, it got even louder. Because I knew things would not get any easier, and I was not even halfway through the course.
Yet, here I am writing about qualifying for the fifth module. Knowing that I have passed the halfway mark, I feel lighter now and more confident.
My lesson here is, if you are pursuing anything of interest, the first half of the journey will feel impossible and difficult. Please hold on to it. You can only earn the right to quit after you have reached the halfway mark of the journey. When you pass the halfway mark, there are still 50% left of the journey ahead of you, but you would be more willing to complete the rest of it.
