The Cheapest Charity is Not to Waste
I was upset at a friend over dinner. She over ordered and there were a lot of wasted food. The wastage are two levels. One level is the wasted food, the second level is the money spend.
The best charity that you can do is not to waste food. You can consciously do it every day. By only buying what you need, you only spent on what you need and do not encourage unnecessary excess. By limiting wastage, the unsold food can be sold to the ones who need it. Suppliers and manufacturers are more conscious during production and marketing. Your effort may not be obvious, but it adds up.
Charity does not mean writing cheques to the poor or organisations. It starts from you and your lifestyle. Start by not wasting.
