The Joy of Offline Shopping
I miss bringing my kids to the toy shop. When they were kids, we would spent at least an hour at our local toy shop. We do not usually buy things, we allow them to roam the store isle and discover what toys are available. Sometimes, they would tell me what are the latest greatest in the market. For them, hanging out in the store is a discovery hunt for them. Furthermore, I also miss seeing their smiles when they select their presents for their birthday or special occasions.
Now they are all grown up, we hardly visit the mall. (We did visit the video game store earlier.) The family do most of the shopping on-line. We still "discover" new things through on-line app's recommendation. But the experience of discovering something new is never as satisfying.
I agree that online shopping is far more efficient and saves time. But it never beats the feeling of being surprised and feeling of holding the product in our hands.
