Living Kindfully

The Present Needs You. Not Your Past

When I joined the workforce, I joke with my colleagues that if I win the lottery, I will not resign but keep working and argue with my bosses every day. I am that petty. I am a person who cannot let go of my past. Many times, I think about those who had wronged me. In my imaginary world, I am always the hero in a revenge movie.

"The present needs you. Not your Past."

A good friend said the above to me. He cannot be more correct. All those people whom I dislike are not in my life anymore. I have a family, a healhty body and a business. I should not be thinking about the past.

The thought of having the last laugh or the last say is tempting but I am living in a self-made prison. My kids are all grown up. I don't remember much about their childhood as I was too busy chasing other dreams. Sadly, most of those dreams became nightmare. I wish I can undo my actions, but I only have the present moment to make a difference.

Your past can be very painful, it is over. The present needs you because you can make a difference. Do not let that chance slip away, because tomorrow always become today. So, please make today count.
