Three Words To Connect with Somone
For the record, I am not a good conversationalist. Given my business, I need to engage in many small talks. My secret is to let the person do the talking while I just listen.
To stay curious and engaged in the conversation, I always ask "Tell me more". This allows the person to share whatever she is sharing. There will be no awkward pause in the conversation. I give the person the chance to share whatever she wants to share while I can learn more about the person.
If you find yourself feeling uneasy or do not know what to say, let the other person do the talking. Enjoy the moment and you will learn something new from that conversation.
