Living Kindfully

To Another Person. Your Life is Like Striking a Lottery

A friend told me that my life is like striking a lottery because I have two amazing kids, good marriage, good health and running my own business. In my eyes, he is a far more successful businessman with properties around the world, a loving full time wife who brought up their kids who excels in both studies and sports.

He told me that he inherited his family business. He never know how it is like to start a business from nothing. In the eyes of family and friends, he can never walk out from his father's shadow. He will never know whether his achievements are attribute to his hard work or father's legacy. My struggles are real and my success is a testimony of my grit.

It is odd that we only look at what we do not have, and envious of other's have. I know I am a lucky person, but I did not expect a far more successful person would think my struggles is a blessing.

As we look at another person's life jealously, take a moment to think that another person is looking at us jealously. Be grateful with what we have. Yes. Your current life is like striking a lottery.
