Tools that I used for My Certification Exam Preparation

I have passed my first exam paper for Associateship of Asian Institute of Insurance (AAii) Level 2 certification. This subject is a self-study subject. Here are the tools that I used to prepare for the exam.

ChatGPT Plus. I load the textbook into ChatGPT. I asked it to create mock exams questions by only referencing the textbook. The questions are good, but not as comprehensive or as deep as the actual exams. The summary of each chapter is not in-depth enough. I have used to this tool to generate more than 500 mock exam questions. Whenever I have pockets of time, I would use the mobile app to generate questions to test my knowledge.

Old name cards which is blank on one side. I crammed and summarised chapter topics onto the back of the name card. By distilling the idea and the act of writing it down, it helps with my understanding and memory. I would go through my cards whenever I am bored.

NotebookLM free version. I am still experimenting with this tool, it has good potential. I loaded the textbook and ask it to teach me each section of the textbook. The explanation is simple and straight forward. It has limitation where it could not generate mathematical formulas or graphs. The notes that I created on my computer is not visible on the mobile app. It is less prone to hallucinate compared to ChatGPT. I am considering upgrading the Gemini subscription to use this tool.

Table Calendar and kitchen timer. Every day, I would study for about 25 minutes. I use the kitchen timer to track my time. I either be practicing questions or writing notes from the textbook. After each study session, I cross out the day in the table calendar. Keep the streak unbroken, means I am studying every day.
