Use Your Pain as Fuel | My Son's Story
This week my son posted a personal YouTube video about loneliness, depression and his struggles in school. I know most of his struggles as we occasionally talked about it. He is so lonely and awkward that he only went out with his high school friends once. Seeing him opening up in front of the camera makes me cry. His video ended in a high note telling his audience how he used his passion about planes to find peace, and found a group of people who are like minded about planes. He expressed his gratitude to his fans and tell those who are struggling that they are not alone.
We had an in depth discussion about the video. He told me that he still has not come out from the darkness. He is just better in managing it. During high-school, he saw friends started YouTube channel. So he started his own channel. After 9 years, he has successfully monetised the channel and created a small community. All his friends has stopped uploading into their channels.
He has consistently upload his videos. He also channeled his loneliness into action. By understanding the pain of rejection, he can tell those who are struggling that they are not alone as he is going through it. Many who commented in the video shares similar struggles and appreciative of my son's video message.
My son is far wiser than me. He has successfully channeled all the negative energy into something positive. We all have our struggles. Use that struggle to be the perfect ingredient to improve your life.
Note: I am not sharing my son's video as my intention is not to promote my son's video or channel. Rather, I am writing to inspire my readers to embrace the pain of life and let pain guide them to the path of happiness by taking action consistently. If my son is popular and well liked in school, he probably could not have a successful YouTube channel and created a small community of plane lovers.
