When Limitation Drives Innovation and Focus
Earlier this year, I salvaged a 2010 Macbook Air. The operating system and built-in battery needs to be replaced. I replaced the operating system with Linux Mint. The replacement battery cost around 100USD. The battery is not exactly top notch, it gives me 3 hours of screen time.
Given the dated hardware of Macbook Air, I can hardly play any media or log into any social sites which is resource intensive.Due to its limitation, to many it is a burden. To me, it is the limitation that keeps me productive.
This Macbook Air is my studying and writing device. Its 3 hours battery forces me to stay focus on my task. Knowing that I have limited power, I do not waste time on non-productive activities.
Many of this blog's post are written on the Macbook Air, including this post. For I have to get my studying and writing down before the battery runs out.
Do not resists limitations. Because it is through limitations that forces you to be innovative and productive.
