When You Cannot Afford a New Macbook, Do This

I love Apple products but I cannot afford it brand new. Sometimes at pre-love price, Apple products can still be expensive. What I love is the durability of the product. I am currently using a 2013 Macbook Air but running on Linux Mint.

I salvaged the Macbook Air from a recycling centre, the owner told me that the device cannot be upgraded anymore and the battery only last about 20 minutes. I paid USD100 for a new battery and USD40 for a specialist to install Linux Mint.

I have been using this device as my writing platform for 1.5 years and it has not let me down. I get about 2 hours of battery time. No doubt I do not get to enjoy the iOS but I do not think I miss anything. This device has helped me with my exams preparation and entries for this blog.

If you love Apple products but have a tight budget, you can consider installing Linux. You will have the best of both worlds.
