Working Late Because of Procrastination?
I have a small working desk in my bedroom. Whenever I am working late, I have to be mindful not to disturb my wife. If she is sleeping early, I will work at the dining table. When she comes into the room, I will leave the room. Lately, she asked whether it is necessary for me to work late? I gave her a quick "yes" reply.
As I now reflect my answer, what if it is not true? What if, I manage my time better? Many of my task that I do at night are normally paperwork or data analytics. I need to spend at least an hour on these tasks, and I feel tedious doing it. Is my day that busy so I must work late? Am I just procrastinating these tasks until I have no choice but to start working on it?
Looking at my calendar and task list, I could be procrastinating. I could be more effective by scheduling my tasks and not waiting until it is too late. Without my wife's questions, I would not have realised my blind spot.
What are you putting off until it is too late? Schedule it and put it on your calendar.
