Living Kindfully

You Have to Make an Effort for Your Partner

I have been married for more than 20 years. Me and my wife have gone through a lot. Due to both career and family commitments, there are days where we hardly talk. Yet, our relationship remained strong.

Despite our job commitments and our schedules, we never really drifted apart. I still find something new and interesting about her. There was a time that I was bored by my wife. Not that she has become boring but I have failed to make an effort to know more about her. The temptation to sway is ever more irresistible. I am blessed that I have enough self awareness to know I need to make an effort to maintain the marriage.

Staying curious about your partner is not difficult. Take the effort to know what she likes. Spent time with her doing what she enjoy. Schedule a time for the two of you to date. It may not necessary be dinner and wine, but a cup of coffee on Saturday morning.

A loving relationship is like anything in life. You have to make an effort to maintain it. Only then your relationship will last and grow.
