Your Ego could have Blinded You

Someone told me why he does not want to take up any professional certification. The ego is a double edge sword. With an ego, it pushes us to do better because we fear of losing. With an ego, we also have an false idea that we are better than others.
I have a huge ego, I work hard because I want to be better than others. Sometimes my ego also cloud my judgement. There are moments that I think I am better than others and I stopped learning. I have lost count on how I refuse to change my mind despite warnings and advises that I have received.
Battling against ego is a life long war. As soon as we say, "I have overcome my ego", the ego is laughing at us because it can never be permanently beaten. We can only be mindful and guard our thoughts. Before you make a snark remark or a come back when someone has insulted you, ask yourself this question.

If is only meant to bring down the person, it is better left unsaid. Physical pain heals but verbal pain can last a life time. Your love ones does not deserve the pain and so is the stranger.
Remember, you are not better than others. We can always learn from someone, even is from a two year old toddler.
