Body Healthy Mental Sick
I was having lunch with my suppliers. Suddenly I begin to develop cold sweat and heart palpitation. I left lunch early and checked myself into an emergency clinic. The doctor could not find anything wrong with me. The only explanation was I just had a panic attack. The root cause of the panic attack could be due to work stress.
Despite a few public holidays, I have never taken any break. I would either be catching up with my work or planning for major system upgrade for my business. When I am on a break, I would be thinking about my work. So I am mentally occupied 24/7.
Lately, I have tried jogging or brisk walking without wearing headphones. The purpose of the exercise is to reduce stimulation to my brain and allow my mind to wonder. Maybe this exercise is too little too late.
It is good to charge ahead and keep us productive. Sometimes, we also have to listen out to the whispers of life. Whispers warning us about dangers that lies ahead. If life has to hold our collar and start screaming at us, it is probably too late.
Our body may be healthy but we could be mentally sick. So please listen to what life tells us.
