Living Kindfully

Celebrate Small Milestone

My youngest son just completed his foundation year to university. I took the family out for a BBQ lunch. I cannot remember when the last time the family had a BBQ meal. The meal was not cheap, but I think it is important to celebrate a small milestone for the family.

Our life is made up of small milestones. If we only appreciate the big milestones, we will live a short and miserable life. Big milestones are few and far in between. While small milestones are like a chain, it connects our life. Yet, many of us takes these moments for granted. Small milestones are also worthy of celebration. Afterall, it is still an achievement.

Small milestones mean small celebration. Large milestones mean large celebration. Nevertheless, there is no need to splurge on all milestones. The intention is to take note of the moment on that day. Sometimes, a simple prayer or a whisper of appreciation is enough to mark the occasion.
