Going Back to Basics by Writing it All Down
The last few months have been depressing. I am not thinking straight and everything that I do is filled with mistakes. I tried to book a holiday or the family; I got the dates wrong twice! I accidently pay a forced-savings plans twice. I have to send the same quotation to a client no more than 3 times because of mistakes, despite my inspections before pressing the Send button.
My mind is not at the right place. I try to sleep early, keep my drinking moderate and exercise. Yet, my thoughts are still scattered. When I am with the family, I be thinking about my work. If I am at work, I am thinking about family. My mind is constantly churning, I need to get this done, I need to get that done. I ended up not getting anything done because of mistakes.
The last few days, things got slightly under control as I forced myself to write down things that I need to do. Initially it was really overwhelming as the list gets really long. I slowly checked off each item one by one without any mistakes. Then the list got long again, but it is expected. My to-do list will forever be long. It feels good and satisfying as I cross out each item.
I used to have a habit of tracking my tasks, but I somehow have stopped. It is good to start again. My mind is still scattered, but it is manageable now. Write it all down, it helps.
