I am Afraid of the Blank Page

In this blog, I used to write whatever that comes into my mind. I was never afraid of the blank page with a lonely blinking cursor. Then I started to draft the blog in my mind or in my notebooks. As soon as I start up the blog editor, I immediately know what I want to write. There are many nights that I would stare at the blank page not knowing what to write. The more I stare at the blank page, the harder it is to start writing. I don't know when it started, but I developed the phobia of looking at a blank page.

Someone once told me that emptiness is a form of perfection. There is nothing to criticise and it has unlimited potential. To me, there are two types of emptiness. An empty wall, and empty space is a form of emptiness that I desire. That's why I always try to clear the clutters in my house. An empty page is what I am afraid. I find an empty page fill with possibilities, and I also find it fill with nothing. There are many things that I want to say or write, but I am also stuck for words. I cannot stand looking at a blank blog editor.

Maybe this is what people says, writer's block. To overcome writer's block, I use a notebook that captures my thoughts. Those thoughts can be anything, a word, a reminder, a sentence or even a scribble. When I look at my notebooks, I have ideas on what to write.

Today's blog is inspired by a page of my notebook that is filled with scribbles that I cannot decipher. I can't even read my own handwriting.
