If You are Not in the Mood to Start Work, Do This
This morning I wake up and I have no mood in doing any work. In fact, I was tempted to call in sick today. There were a few pressing issues but nothing that is serious.
I do not have a regular morning routine. I start to look at the most urgent issue by telling myself I will only look at it for 5 minutes. When 5 minutes is up, I stand up and pace around the office for as long as I want. However, I am not allowed to touch my phone. Then, I start the 5 minutes cycle again. After two sessions, my concentration and mood to work comes back. There is no need to call in sick.
Sometimes we procrastinate is because we are overwhelmed by our work and to-do list. Start with the smallest and built up your momentum.
