Journey is the Reward
Today I took a walk with my son for lunch. During the walk, we talked about our dream cars and his ambition. We saw a few cars that we both like very much. He shared the history of the brand and what he wants to do with the car.
I told him that if he is passionate about his dream, he should immediately chase that dream. There is no need to wait. Soon, we discussed what we need to afford the cars. There were many factors but we both agreed that we both lack knowledge and network. We cannot make the money that is beyond our knowledge level. We cannot know smart people, if we are not smarter or as smart as them. Therefore, we need to stretch ourselves to get our dream car. Before we can take our dream cars on a trip, we have to go on own journey.
As we finished our lunch, my son remarked that the getting the car is only the milestone. The real reward is the journey as we grow into someone who deserves the car. The journey of growth would be more fun than an outing in your dream car.
