My Client Feed My Quote and Competitor Quote into ChatGPT
Sales is about human connection, understand the client needs, build up the relationship and make an offer that both parties will go home happy. In my general insurance sales journey, I make a point to visit the client and understand location.
During the visit, I would feel the building, talk to both building manager and staffs, walk around the perimeter to understand the physical risk. Back in office, I look at arial pictures of the location, study claims history and existing policy. Once I understand both the building and management, I prepare a quotation for approval. When the quote is ready, I personally explain the quote and how each coverage fit into their needs.
Lately I found out that my client feed both competitor and my quote into ChatGPT for comparisons. They now rely on ChatGPT's feedback to decide on the outcome.
Clients has the right to do whatever necessary to help them with the decision making process. Rather than getting upset, I now have to learn how to convince both human and AI. With AI being deployed everywhere, this is probably the future of sales.
