Self-Studying | Beware of the Rabbit's Hole
Lately, I have been trying to setup OpenClaw for my personal use. Thus far, it is barely working and has not reached to the level that I have envisioned. I have spent a lot of time reading forums and experimenting with the settings. What is a WebHook, API, Agents, Skills etc. I ended up doing deep dive into aspects of OpenClaw that is not relevant to my project objective.
This is the danger of self-studying. Without proper framework and precise objective, we can go off-course and ended up in places that we did not expect. I know this can be good as many inventions or theories are from unexpected path. Nevertheless, these innovations are few and far in between. Remember, they all started from a rigid place of science and control.
If you are self-studying like me, make sure you know your endgame and target. Without the end in mind, you will be all over the place and get frustrated that you have wasted your time.
