There is No Easy Answer
Since the passing of my son's friend, my son has not said much after he got back from the wake. We discussed about how he feels when attending the wake and shared some stories about his friend. He feels the pain of his friend's family.
Many years ago, he once told me that his mind is not in the right place. He had therapy that lasted a year. Since then, he has walked out from his bad period. To me, his bad experience still keeps me up at night. I always fear it will come back and the family might not be able to intervene.
His friend's passing is a good way for him to confront life's reality. A therapist, books, videos and I can say a thousand things. Nothing hits like the hammer of reality. The pain and the loss that the deceased has left behind.
There is no easy answer to his friend's death. A talented young person who is willing to take his own life, he must have endured something really serious. Sadly, we will never find out.
