Why I Choose to Double my Sales Target?

This year, I managed to hit my sales target by a small margin. It has been a tough journey where I have been working non-stop to reach the target. Along the way, I have made mistakes and had many disappointments. Yet during the annual meeting, I volunteered to double my sales target.

Am I mad? I probably am. I feel that by doubling my sales target, it forces me to think out of the box. Certainly, I am not able to reach the sales target by myself. I need to get someone to help me and streamline my sales process.

Frankly, I do not have a solid plan yet. The pressure to perform should force me to think and be creative. If you have to travel 1Km from your house, you will probably walk. If you have to travel 100KM from your house, you will think of a transportation to take you there. The same principle applies to sales. If I gradually increase my sales target, I would probably be making incremental changes to my approach. If I have to double my sales target, I have to think of something big to reach my sales target. Thus, the decision.

For the time being, I have received approval to hire and mentor a junior salesperson. There are some ideas on how to directly engage property management companies and property developers to insure all their buildings in one package. Eventually, more ideas will come.

The coming new year will have entirely different set of challenges. And it is starting immediately.
