Without Money, There is No Peace
A friend called me and asked whether I can lend her about USD3000. The money is for her son's university education fees. I could not as I am still nursing my losses from last year. It seems that she already had a big fight with her husband over the education fees. They are at the verge of divorce. It is not because of another younger child; they would have already done it.
I do not want to give involve with someone's family matters. Looking at her relationship and my marriage, money plays a huge factor in the relationship. I always feel incompetent that I could not provide for my family. I had my share of arguments with my wife over money. Even when there is no argument, I have to fake a smile telling them that I will handle it.
Money does not buy happiness, but it buys peace. Peace that I know I can provide the family. Peace that I know I can pay for whatever emergency spending that arises. When we have peace in the family, we can further improve other parts of the family life. When there is no peace, that's where the relationship begins to break.
Never believe that money is not factor. Money always one of the factors. It is how we use the money and its role in our life.
