Your Haters are 100% Right About You
At a school gathering, someone told me about a friend's divorce. It was a surprised as they have been married for more than 20 years. Obviously, it became the main topic of the gathering.
"I told you that the marriage will end in separation." said one of classmates who attended the gathering. I vaguely remember these two people did not get along since school days.
What the person said hit me hard. Your haters are 100% right about you. No matter how hard you work or live your own terms. Haters will have the last laugh. They are just waiting for you to fail. A 20-year marriage is not easy but ends up as "I told you so" gossip.
Throughout my life, my drive to success was fuelled by proving my haters wrong. After the gathering, I realised that I will never win. Haters wear a distorted lens about the people they dislike. They will never change their opinion and finding more reasons to hate. I should not waste my precious life on opinions of someone that is not important.
I was wrong to live a vengeful life. I should have lived a life that is on my own definition of success. We should not live to proof our haters wrong but to live on our own terms. To my friend who just got the divorced, go and live life that you choose to live. Haters be dammed.
